Stories in motion: Gestalt psychotherapy with migrant families – speaker: Silvia Tosi
Whether forced or chosen, every migration is a courageous act that brings with it changes in the whole family history. Becoming children of migrants anywhere is a critical, complex and at the same time adventurous event, which marks the future in our societies.
Those who have migrated can easily feel the lack of a basic support, of a ground taken for granted, it becomes difficult to place their own self in the world. Feeling at home in a foreign land, in a world where we have no roots, implies meeting in no man’s land where it is possible to co-create an unpredictable experience. In this lecture I will illustrate gestalt clinical work in a family reunification situation.
