MBA, MSc, UKCP, IAHIP, ECP. Billy Desmond is a queer cis gender white Irish man, living between the rural West Coast of Ireland and London, England. He works as a Gestalt psychotherapist, supervisor, and dialogical educator with a particular research interest in embodied ways of knowing in groups and diverse relational dynamics within the LGBTQI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex) community.
Billy Desmond is faculty member at the Gestalt Institute of Ireland, guest faculty at international Gestalt training institutes, and a certified trainer of Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy. He is co-chair of the Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversity Interest Group in IAAGT. He is on the editorial board of Gestalt Therapy Book Series and the Gestalt Review. He has presented at international conferences and published journal papers /chapters on group-work, group supervision, experiential ways of knowing in qualitative research, non-heteronormative relationships, homophobia, working with gay men, and co-authored a book Introduction to Gestalt (Sage, 2012).
