Being homeless…

Being homeless… – speaker: Dieter Bongers

The explorative journey to our gestalt predecessors around the issues of homelessness and migration.

I am born and grew up in Germany and live now in Switzerland since more then 30 years. Compaired with other places in the world as Palastine or Ukraine this a safe and cosy place. And tough I speek German and understand French (what is a official language in Switzerland) everybody hears at once I am a foreigner. So the issues of migration, homelessness and feeling isolation are common for me. Fritz Perls who migrated from Germany to South Africa and then to the USA spoke English even after more then 30 years in countries with English language with a terrible German accent. Lore Perls loved to read German poems even leaving the country as a jewish person. Men can get used to a lot of challenges, we can see it in many scientists and artists who succeed in a foreign culture. Jewish people were very successful in Psychology and Psychotherapy because of the variety of the backgrounds and the knowledge of different languages (Paul Goodman spoke more the 6 languages)

So let us talk about loss and gains about home and homelessness. About intellectual challenges and about feelings. What are the impacts on eroticism and sexuality for Migrants? No feelings at all? Beeing attracted by the new culture or staying with the old background?
